Hex Code Black

_Visual Look & Feel 2022

We had a great opportunity to work on a pro bono design project for Hex Code Black (#000000) — a podcast produced by THREE'S A CROWD agency.  The podcast episodes feature honest conversations with Black creative professionals to address workplace challenges tied to issues like colorism, classism, racism and colonialism, and to share feelings and experiences that are real and entrenched in history, policies, and laws that have affected many lives.

The project tasks included a logo design that infused with a simple 4-colors palette to embody the Black American culture, and incorporated curvy lines that mimic tree roots as a metaphor to reflect workplace issues that have been deeply rooted in historical systemic problems. We also created an promo video to define its purpose and mission through a montage of dynamic type animation.
